If you were in worship this past Sunday, you saw a compilation video of many of JCBC’s missional partners, extending their congratulations and blessings, as we prepare to mark the occasion of our 25th anniversary. If you missed the video, you can check it out here. [vc_video link='https://vimeo.com/294341780']   At the time of this writing, we are 11 days away from the big celebration! October 21, 2018 is our 25th anniversary as Johns Creek Baptist Church! I’m calling on our entire JCBC family to make a special effort to be present that day. Eleven days, and counting. Will you be with us? Here is a brief glance at...

Did you know suicide is the second leading cause of death among the ages 10-24? Or, that one person dies by suicide every 16 minutes? Or, there were 1,124,125 suicide attempts in 2016, one every 28 seconds? Or, that two-thirds of people who die by suicide are suffering from depression and that undiagnosed, untreated depression is the number one cause of suicide? Or, that there were more suicides than homicides last year in the U.S.? Or, that the highest suicide rate among adults are persons 45-54? These statistics are facts but it is important to not view this through the lens...

JCBC, I am happy to introduce to you Ansley Hall. Ansley joined our staff this Summer as the Weekday Preschool Director. Ansley is originally from the Johns Creek area and recently moved back with her husband and two children after spending her college and early career years in Alabama. She has a master’s degree in education, many years of experience in both public schools and preschool, outstanding leadership and communication skills, a deep love for God and children, and comes highly recommended. I am confident that her professional and personal experience give her what it takes to lead our preschool effectively and...

For last year’s words belong to last year’s language, and next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a new beginning. T.S. Eliot Over the twenty-three years serving this church, I’ve seen many staff ministers come and go. Each brought their own talents, gifts and mindsets to their respective ministry areas and each left us richer for their time with us. Each new minister arrives amidst feelings of renewal and promise for our future. So, this weekend we say farewell to a long interim and warmly welcome our new Children’s Pastor, Annie Sutton. Our new beginning...

We are thrilled to welcome Adam Courtney to the JCBC team! Last week the church voted unanimously to call Adam as our contemporary worship leader. Adam comes to us with a heart for true worship, and a passion for helping people engage in ways that are meaningful and authentic. He has been leading worship, these recent years, with excellence at North Point Community Church. Interestingly, Adam had the unique opportunity a few years ago of developing, launching, and leading a contemporary service in a traditional church. He led such an initiative in Richmond, Virginia, where that church continues to thrive. But most importantly,...

But three years can be an eternity in this digital era. So, in an effort to remain fresh and functional in this ever-changing time, we have updated many aspects of our Website. As you browse, here are just a few features to look for...
