DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWalk this Way: Following Jesus Beyond the Mountain\nBeginning Sunday, May 21st!\nwith Pulpit Guest, Dr. Gregory Deloach\nDean, Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology\nWe are excited to welcome Dr. Greg DeLoach to Johns Creek Baptist Church for a special season of worship. During the summer, Dr. DeLoach will lead us through a sermon series focused on Jesus’s teachings found in the Sermon on the Mount. This sermon series promises to better equip each of us to be followers of Jesus and a witness for Christ in the world.\nLet your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give\nglory to your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 NRSV)\nBaseball philosopher Yogi Bearer once quipped, “When there is a fork in the road, take it.” Yet every day and every moment we are confronted with choices where we must decide which way to go and who to follow. Two thousand years ago Jesus climbed up a mountain and spoke words inviting all who would listen to walk this way. Every journey requires directions, a guide, and signposts. Through this eleven-part series we explore again this holy summons to walk this way, following Jesus up the mountain and beyond.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Dean C. Gregory DeLoach, a native of Eatonton, Georgia, has pastored congregations throughout the state for nearly three decades, including in Mansfield, Chickamauga, Marietta, and Augusta.\nFollowing 10 years as senior pastor of First Baptist Augusta, he became executive director of Developmental Disabilities Ministries, an Atlanta-based nonprofit, charitable corporation serving adults with developmental disabilities and their families through operation of 19 homes across Georgia.\nIn February 2017, he joined the development staff at Mercer, having previously served on the University’s Board of Trustees. He was named Interim Dean in 2018, and appointed Dean in 2021.\nHe and his wife, Amy, have two adult sons, Clark and Aaron, and a daughter-in-law, Erin, and one new grandson!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
