Welcome to JCBC Youth!

We want every student to know they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God. Our heart is to help middle and high school students grow into lifelong followers of Jesus by building authentic relationships with God, with one another, and with caring adult leaders.

We believe life change happens best in the context of relationships. That’s why everything we do—from Sunday mornings and Sunday nights to retreats, small groups, and special events—is designed to create a place where students feel welcomed, encouraged, and safe to ask questions, be themselves, and grow in their faith.

As students become part of our community, we hope they’ll grow in three important ways:

Growing in their relationship with God

We believe God’s Word transforms lives. Through engaging Bible teaching, meaningful conversations, and intentional discipleship, students discover who God is and how His truth shapes everyday life. Whether it’s on Sunday mornings, Sunday nights, or at retreats, we open Scripture together and learn what it means to follow Jesus.

Growing in authentic community

No one was meant to do life alone. We want every student to experience genuine friendships where they are known, encouraged, and challenged to become more like Christ. As we share life together, we celebrate each other’s victories, carry one another’s burdens, and point each other toward Jesus.

Growing in confidence to live and share their faith

The hope of Jesus changes everything. As students grow in their relationship with Christ, we want them to be equipped and encouraged to live out their faith with confidence at home, at school, on the field, and wherever God leads them. Our desire is for every student to discover the joy of sharing the love and hope of Christ with others.

Wherever your student is on their faith journey, there’s a place for them here. We’d love to walk alongside them as they discover God’s purpose for their life and experience the joy of following Jesus together.

Our Programs

Our programs serve to meet the needs of our students and fulfill the mission and vision of our ministry. We have multiple environments that work together to provide a well-rounded experience for our Middle and High Schoolers.

Sunday Morning Bible Study

Donuts, Deep Dive Into Scripture, Video Games… What could be better? Join us in The Pit and Upper Room at 9:30am on Sunday Mornings.

The ONE Service

On different Sundays throughout the program year, JCBC Youth will host an
exciting night of fun and worship. Laser Tag, Bubble Soccer, Dance Part… You won’t want to miss The 1! Specific Sundays 5-7:30pm.

Grow Groups

When we are not hosting The 1 Service, JCBC Youth meet together on Sunday nights for dinner, worship, and Grow Groups. Grow Groups are small groups of students split up by grade and gender and are led by some of the coolest volunteers on the planet. The goal is to GROW in our love for God, each other, and God’s Creation.

The Messy Middle

Wednesday nights are a chance for JCBC youth to gather and discuss real world issues. How does the Bible and our Faith in God help us navigate the sometimes difficult, everyday, challenges we face? We will discuss that at The Messy Middle in The Pit and Upper Room on Wednesdays at 6:30pm.

Mission

Serving our community and beyond is crucial for the development of our student’s faith. Mission Trips and regular serving opportunities will be available throughout the year.

Retreats & Camps

Whether it’s a weekend getaway, or week-long camp, JCBC Youth loves to get out of our regular environment to recharge and refresh. Always fun and faith building, we hope you’ll join us at our retreats and camps.

Sunday School is part of our DNA at JCBC. We offer communities with Bible Study and Topical Studies for people of all ages. In Youth, our Sunday School hour is a space that provides Biblical teaching and meaningful discussion for teenagers. We start out with donut fellowship and transition to large-group introduction of the week’s lesson. Then, we split into age-level classes to go deeper and connect the stories to students’ daily lives.

Our JCBC Youth participate in community worship with our larger church congregation. At JCBC we believe that being part of an intergenerational church is important. Worship is a place where students can look around and see people from all ages and walks of life worshiping God. Participating in corporate worship allows students to understand that their faith journey is part of a larger story and that our youth group is part of a larger body of believers. This helps to make their faith more real and relatable as they grow and develop into young adults.

Our Sunday night Grow Groups are an integral part of our students’ discipleship. Grow Groups provide an opportunity for students to worship, learn, eat, and play together. In Grow Groups our students are provided a space to build deep relationships with each other and their leaders and they point each other to Jesus. This is an environment where students can take steps towards a growing faith in Christ.

JCBC Youth love camps and retreat! We provide six opportunities for students to get away from the pressures and packed schedules of their everyday lives to connect more deeply with the presence of God. Our retreats include special opportunities for Middle School and High Schoolers to grow at their own levels, combined trips to explore God as a united group, and mission opportunities to share the love of God with others.

We provide a missional opportunities for students at least once a semester and once over the summer. This includes, but is not limited to, participating in donation drives, serving at local nonprofits, and going on domestic and foreign mission experience. The goal of these opportunities is two fold: first, to be the hands and feet of Christ to those in need, and second, to begin integrating a missional consciousness into our students lives. Students are challenged to find ways to serve those around them in their daily lives as well as get involved with local missional partners as individuals.

Along with the serious, and seriously fun, programing we plan throughout the year, we also coordinate social events for students to connect with each other outside of Sundays and retreats. From summer lunch to messy games to coffee meet-ups and game nights, our students have fun together in everything they do! Breaking down barriers and stepping out of insecurities at social events helps create a feeling of safety so that students can be more authentic with each other when those serious moments occur. That’s how fun builds trust!
