Prayer request from Shaun King: Today, we grieve with the Hyde family in the loss of Lawrence Hyde (brother to JCBC member, Harold Hyde). Lawrence died this afternoon in Tracy, California. Arrangements are yet unknown. In the meantime, we pray that the all-sufficient grace of our Lord would attend every need.

Please pray for a successful surgery and healing for Brandon.

Prayer request from Shaun King: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kraig Rock, husband of Lori Rock. After battling liver cancer, Kraig is now at rest with our Lord. The prayers of the church are asked for Lori and family during this very difficult time. Arrangements for a memorial service are still pending at this time, and will be announced as soon as they are confirmed.

Prayer request from Glenn Crosthwait: With a heavy heart, we must report that after a battle with brain cancer Donn Poole went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning. Donn and Katherine were long-time members at JCBC and moved to Florida a few years ago to plant a church at The Villages. Please pray for Katherine, Nellie Martin, and Catelyn Martin.

Prayer request from John’s Creek Baptist Church: Kraig A. Rock, 65, of Buford, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, April 29, after a long-term illness. Kraig was a member of Johns Creek Baptist Church.

Kraig was born in Seville, Ohio and moved to Apopka, Florida in 1991, where he met his wife, Lori Chance. In 1994, Kraig and Lori married in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. Lori’s unwavering love during Kraig’s health crisis has been a testimony of loving a partner through the good and the bad, sickness and health. During this time, their faith never wavered, and knowing that Kraig is no longer in pain is a comfort to the family.

Kraig loved playing guitars from his collection and doing musical concerts with his family, singing the music of Neil Diamond and The Eagles. He also had a great love for the beach, spending many favorite vacations in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. He will be fondly remembered for his love of country and state, and the highest level of patriotism. In addition, he was a proud member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and was a Past Excellent High Priest in the Masonic Lodge.

Kraig’s spirit will continue to live in his wife, Lori; son, Kyle; daughters Carrie (Joe) Sobremonte and Cristie (Henry) Romero and eight loving grandchildren, Kathi, Christian, Hunter, Clara, Cameron, Isabella, Henris, and Sofia; parents, Karl Rock and Donna Branch of Seville, OH; sister Kathy (Don) Hill, Old Fort, NC, brother Karl (Lynn) Rock in Seville, OH and father- and mother-in law, Harry and Doris Chance of Hoschton, Georgia. He was preceded in death by first wife, Cathie, and his brother-in-law, Art Chance.

Funeral arrangements are as follows: The family will receive friends Friday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. in the Heritage Room (Johns Creek Baptist Church), with the service being held at 11:00 a.m. in the church chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Johns Creek Baptist Church, Attn: David White, 6910 McGinnis Ferry Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30005.
