Gobsmacked!

The 20th Anniversary Celebration of Christmas at Johns Creek left me simply gobsmacked!
Yes. Gobsmacked.

gob·smackedˈɡäbˌsmakt/ adjective BRITISH informal
-utterly astonished; astounded.

My cup continues to overflow from the joy we shared this past weekend. With performances on Saturday and Sunday, our church hosted more than 3000 worshippers for the event.  It was an extraordinary night of worship and celebration. God was glorified, Christ was exalted, and hearts were filled.

There were many highlights, to be sure. One such moment was the parade of baby Jesuses throughout the years. Seeing the cascade of ages and stages walk across the platform served as a poignant reminder of the longstanding tradition that has become something of an institution for our city. Without doubt, the numerous friends and neighbors who attend each year have come to count on Christmas at Johns Creek as an integral part of their holiday season.

I am so very proud of our church at times like these. Massive thanks goes to our entire music ministry and cast, our musicians and vocalists, our amazing video and production teams, as well as our staff and volunteers who helped provide a warm and inviting environment of hospitality for our guests.

None of it would be possible, however, were it not for the visionary leadership of Glenn Crosthwait. Glenn’s passion and commitment to glorifying Christ through music continues to inspire new ways to hear the old, old, Story. With imagination and class, he has (once again) accomplished that task! Hats off to you, Maestro! Another job well done!

Have I told you lately how much I love being your pastor?
Well I do.

You are so right about Glenn Crosthwait and his passionate “visionary leadership”!! As choir members, we love and appreciate him so much for he personifies passion as he leads us every week to glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, through beautiful music! I have been in many choirs over the years but none of them compare to the extraordinary ability and talent this man possesses. We are so fortunate to have him leading our Music Ministry at Johns Creek and whatever he does, it is ALWAYS First Class!! We are also blessed with many talented singers in our choir as well as our extraordinarily talented pianist and organist!! It takes so much from so many to produce a program such as this and I am blessed to be a part of it!!
