MidWeek Update – July 6, 2022

Johns Creek family,

I pray you are well, and that you were able to enjoy a special Independence Day holiday with people you love.

We had a tremendous celebration of worship on Freedom Sunday, as we gave thanks to God for those within our JCBC family and beyond whose selfless acts of service have become “proof through the night” of God’s sustaining grace these past two years. The message God laid on my heart was a call to remember The Four Fragile Freedoms of our Baptist Experience. With such great God-given freedoms as Soul Freedom, Bible Freedom, Church Freedom, and Religious Freedom come also the God-issued charge to take personal responsibility for the stewardship of these freedoms for this age and for generations to come.

This Sunday, we return to our current sermon series, “Chasing the Wind.” It will be a special day as we experience “Unplugged Sunday,” an all acoustically-led worship experience. I pray you make a special effort to be with us in person. In preparation for my message, take some time to read Ecclesiastes 9 this week.

A quick update on Summer Surge 2022! I have been blown away by your continued engagement in our shared life throughout the summer. Attendance has been impressive and giving has been unprecedented! Your generous support is empowering the mission and ministries of our church to surge! I am humbled, inspired, and grateful!

As you look ahead to the coming weeks, don’t miss out on ALL of our opportunities to SURGE in Connections, Formations, Mobilization, and Worship! Stay in the know by visiting www.jcbc.org/summer-surge.

I can’t wait to see you Sunday for Sunday School and Worship!
In the meantime, have I told you lately how much I love being your pastor?

Well, I do!

Shaun
