2017 Annual Missions Offering

Let’s get this out of the way early: March is normally Missions Month. If you remember, during the first quarter we were involved in a capital campaign focused on opening a new worship venue and improvements in the Sanctuary. It didn’t seem fair to the unique campaign or to our Missions Ministry to try do both during March, so we shifted our Annual Missions Offering to September. So it’s time to focus on missional needs and our willingness to address them through our offering.

We believe we are called to be people on mission. We agree with John Wesley’s statement: Untold millions are still untold. We also agree with C.F.H. Henry who said: The Gospel is only good news if it gets there in time. For many people, time is running out. Children who need food who live within ten miles of our church are being fed by Meals by Grace, but the need is outpacing the available food; men who are struggling with addiction have hope through No Longer Bound, but the waiting list to get in is two times their capacity; kids in Presidio, Texas who have the brainpower to make it out of their families cycle of poverty but can’t get the proper learning tools and opportunities…Real life issues and the clock is ticking.

We can impact every issue listed above, as well as fund international and national missionaries and create a fund to assist our local partners during tough stretches in their programs. We can help the Good News arrive on time. All we have to do is give. Our Annual Missions Offering is structured to meet each of these needs. We give the money and God impacts lives…which makes us World Changers. Now let’s go save some lives!
