In January, we will be leading a new class together, as a part of JCBC’s new Midstream programming. The class is Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University.
Financial Peace University (FPU) is a 9-week journey toward financial freedom. This biblically based, video-driven series equips participants to manage money God’s way, by getting out of debt, saving for the future, and becoming more generous than ever before.
Having led this class in our previous congregation, I can attest that FPU isn’t your typical “money class.” It is incredibly practical, entertaining and fun! More than 1.5 million families and individuals have taken FPU. The average family completing the course pays off $5,300 and saves $2,700 in just 90 days. That’s an $8,000 change in position!
The real attraction of FPU is that it offers something significant for everyone. Whether you’re struggling to make ends meet, trying to develop a budget, saving for the kids’ college, or simply planning for your future, FPU has something for you. Grounded in more than 800 verses of Scripture, this journey toward greater financial freedom is a proven plan that will work for you.
Here’s how it will work.
This class will be offered on Wednesday nights, beginning at 6:00 p.m. If you plan to enjoy dinner, you may purchase your ($7.00) dinner prior to class and bring it with you. Dinner lines open at 5:00 p.m. You may eat dinner during the first hour of our class, but participants will be asked to be in their seats and ready to begin at 6:00 p.m.
Each class will be 1½ hours in duration. The first 45 minutes to an hour will be the video-driven teaching of Dave Ramsey, himself. Participants will be given workbooks to follow along, and take helpful notes. The last 30 minutes of each session will be spent in dialogue with one another about our progress and journey of discovery. The cost FPU is $93.00 and includes a box full of resources, books and all class materials.
