If the whole body were a WHOLE body…

Today is October 31st.
On this day, 501 years ago, Martin Luther stood on the steps of the castle church in Wittenburg, Germany and nailed 95 theses (grievances, complaints) about the current state of the church. He believed with all his heart that the church could be better at being the body of Christ in the world.

If you were to add to Luther’s theses, what would you say?
In what way could the global church be better at being the body of Christ in the world today?
While there could be 95 more to enumerate, today I offer one.

It seems in this current era, it seems that to many families in our culture, church is but one of many options on a long list of options when it comes to where they invest their time, energy, passion, and resources.

I believe with all my heart we can be better.
But to be better at being the body of Christ, the whole body must be a WHOLE body, with every single member living up to and into his or her fullest identity as follower of Jesus.

That is why, all month long, I am calling on JCBC to live as a WHOLE BODY.
I am calling on us to make church more than one good option among many, but rather to make church a chief priority.

One of the clearest ways we prioritize our love for Christ and his bride, the church is by pledging our financial support for of our Unified Ministry Budget. When we deliberately pledge what we intend to give to the church in the following year, we are declaring that we believe God is up to something in us and around us, and that we want to be a part of it.

I am asking you to join me and the rest of our church family and turn in your pledge today.
You can submit a card, located at various places around the church, or you can go online right now and pledge at www.jcbc.org/pledge.

Can you imagine what would happen if the whole body were a WHOLE body?
We could wreck the world with redemptive love!

Have I told you how much I love being your pastor?
Well, I do.

Rev. Dr. Shaun King
Senior Pastor
Johns Creek Baptist Church

The sermon on Sunday regarding “The Whole Body” “stoked and provoked” Jack and I and our involvement in church. We love this church body! And thank our Father for it.
The video was good and fitting.

I love WHOLE Body concept by the church and love the image of what it would look like if we all were the WHOLE body!!!!!! The church must be a priority. I’m in. Thank you Shawn for reminding us, strengthening us and challenging us to be the fruit of the vine. Great series!
