To Hispanola with Love (and schools and water)

JCBC has made 35+ trips to the Dominican/Haiti island to minister, teach, preach, equip, build, and provide direct aid to churches and people. Our most recent trip featured a group of nine adults assisting on a school build in La Romana, D. R. The school build is pivotal in the region’s plans to impact the Third world economy and health of the residents. When completed, the school will allow for more children to attend school by day, many for the first time, and adults to study English in the evenings. To master English on this island is one’s ticket to making a living above the poverty line.

DR-School-Build-1We are proud of our nine members who gave up five days, and their expenses, to lift blocks and haul mortar to build a classroom. In a way, we all pitched in, even though the rest of us didn’t ruin any clothes from the Dominican mortar and dirt. The cost of materials to build the classroom was paid for by the Annual Missions Offering. What, you forgot to contribute this year? You weren’t part of this work? You want to sponsor a block? No worries, it’s never too late to give to JCBC on mission and mobilize. You may give at any point of the year by marking your gift to our Annual Missions Offering. If giving is not possible, simply pray for the multiple missional ministries we have in play in any given month. In 2016 we will be active in six countries, on the Texas-Mexico border, and with a record number of local partners. JCBC is mobilized for mission like never before.

Check out the new article in The Fellowship monthly magazine profiling our missional work.
