facebook twitter imageOk…so the message is pretty clear.  “Like” us on Facebook.  “Follow” us on Twitter.  Some of you will do it because you just can’t get enough social media interaction.  Some of you will do it simply because we’ve asked you to.  Most of you, however, first want to know…”why?”

There are several reasons.  To begin, we are going to make good use of these platforms to communicate all the things that are going on in JCBC life.  It will be a great way to be “in the know.”  Additionally, social media gives you a quick and easy way to share the happenings of our church with your friends and followers outside the JCBC community.  It is, in short, a 21st century, technology enabled outreach tool.   More than that, however, we believe that there is much to be said for a church community…a family of faith… that is connected to each other all throughout the week.  We can “do” and “be” church 24-7-365 rather than just from 9:45 to 12:00 on Sunday.

So, Like us.  Follow us.

You should know that we have blown up our old Facebook and Twitter pages.  Thank you for liking and following us before…but we need you to do it again!

To plug in, go to www.jcbc.org (our super cool new website) and scroll to the bottom of the page.  Find the Facebook and Twitter icons, click on them, and follow the prompts.

If you are new to social media and need or would like some help setting up your Facebook and / or Twitter accounts…don’t fret.  Easily accomplished.  We will help you set things up on Wednesday, August 21st in the Youth Suite immediately following a brief business meeting in the Heritage Room that night.  Bring your devices if you have them…or…use one of ours here.  We will have some true experts (our students) to help.

Which brings us to the most important part of this blog…GET STUFF.  Every single person who “likes” us or “follows” us will be rewarded with the official Johns Creek Baptist Church car window decal (applause!)  They are scattered all around the church so help yourself.  Take one for every car you have…we’ve got plenty.  like follow shirt

Also (drum roll please) every person who Likes or Follows us between now and September 8th will qualify to win one of 100 official iMAGiNEXT long sleeve t-shirts featuring the JCBC logo on the front and the iMAGiNEXT logo and JCBC webpage URL on the back.  If you win, you’ll be notified and directed on how to place your size order.

So…Like us.  Follow us.  Get stuff.

So glad to see a new website for our church. We now can share it with friends who can cruise around to find a place to fit in. I use the word “cruise” because it the new website is really “ship shape”!

Yes, following on Twitter also now because..
    1. Can’t get enough social media interaction.
    2. You’ve asked us to.
    3. Last but not least, like the cool t-shirt 🙂

  • I liked JCBC on FB the first Sunday the tee shirts were mentioned but am now trying to figure out tweeting. Maybe the reward of such a stylish shirt will be my incentive to work on my skills (or lack of them). I do believe Imaginext is working. If nothing else, it has helped me take the next step by standing down front ready to help others find their next step. Not an easy thing for me but with many prayers and a little Scripture, God has calmed my fears.
