February will feature a unique weekly focus on missional partners who are making major strides in impacting lives for Christ. Guests from each organization will be with us to present and answer questions about their ministries and how we can become more involved. Each guest will offer seminars at 9:00 with a repeat during the Sunday School hour. Each of these organizations will also receive a portion of this year’s Annual Missions Offering.
Sunday February 9: Steve and Louise Meeker of Hope2Live Ministry in Sierra Leone, West Africa will present and answer questions about this multi-faceted work that provides an advanced medical clinic, education and economic development opportunities to this former war-zone and predominantly Muslim country. Hope2Live will receive 20% of our Annual Missions Offering.
Sunday February 16: Shirley Cabe of Norcross Cooperative Ministry will provide an overview of this local ecumenical ministry dedicated to providing emergency assistance, tutoring, food, clothing and ESL classes for families in the Gwinnett region. Annually 12,000 families seek assistance through NCM, including over 16,000 children. Norcross Cooperative Ministry will receive 10% of our Annual Missions Offering.
Sunday February 23: David Harding of Water is Life International is a CBF-appointed missionary serving Ethiopia. This ministry provides wells and clean water systems for villages. David will also talk to us about a new initiative called Sustainable Living Groups, as well as a growing sports ministry camp program. Water is Life International will receive 20% of our Annual Missions Offering.
Prayerfully consider taking part in any of the above special interest seminars and please plan on giving to our 2014 Annual Missions Offering during February. 100% of the money, down to the penny, will go directly to CBF Global Missions Initiative, Georgia CBF Missions Fund, Hope2Live, Norcross Cooperative Ministry and Water is Life International. Our minimum, baseline goal, is $100,000.00, but we are JCBC…we are Missional people, and we don’t do minimum…so give boldly and let’s continue to rock the world for Christ!
