For the Future of this Church, the Good of our Neighborhood, and the Sake of the World

During my recent State of the Church Address, I introduced a plan to focus our congregational energies over the next three years on four strategic initiatives, which, if pursued with faith and discipline, would position our church for growth, and to become a transforming presence in our neighborhood. I called on our congregation to rise up in all areas of service and sacrifice “…for the future of this church, the good of our neighborhood, and the sake of the world.

One of the first steps in rising up to that challenge was already taken last Wednesday, October 23rd. On that night, during a Special Called Church-In-Conference, we approved a courageous, faith-driven Unified Ministry Budget for 2020. It’s a budget designed to fund the ministries and strategic initiatives that we pray will bring life and hope and transformation to our families and the community which God has called us to love.

In order for these vital ministries and initiatives to thrive, it requires all of us to rise up.
That’s why I am asking you to join me in pledging your financial support to the 2020 Unified Ministry Budget.

I am asking you to do three things: PRAY…PLAN…PLEDGE.

  1. Ask what God would have you and/or your family pledge in the coming year.
  2. Take time to discuss your current giving habits as a family. Deliberately plan to accept God’s challenge to grow!
  3. Finally, complete and submit your pledge. Pledge cards are located around the church, but you can also pledge online at www.jcbc.org/pledge.

I believe with my whole heart that God is up to something right now in the life of our church.   We are being invited to partner with God for the future of this church, the good of our neighborhood, and the sake of the world. But this exciting partnership requires our full support and commitment.  Thank you for doing YOUR part to make JCBC grow!

Have I told you lately how much I love being your pastor?
Well, I do.
