A year ago, I received a medical diagnosis that was both shocking and deeply unsettling. Few words carry as much fear as brain tumor. In that moment of uncertainty, I knew I needed the strength and prayers of my church family, so I asked the congregation to pray for me. As my surgery date approached, something unexpected happened: a profound and unexplainable peace settled over me. Even now, I struggle to describe it fully. Knowing that so many were faithfully praying gave me confidence that God was holding every detail of my life. When I was rolled into surgery, before a single drop of anesthesia had been given, I felt an incredible calm.
“God’s peace held me in a season when fear could have swallowed me whole.”
Following the surgery, the love that poured in from my church family overwhelmed me. Cards, notes, and thoughtful messages filled my home and my heart. Each one felt like a reminder of God’s presence made visible through His people. I remember the joy of opening every card and feeling genuinely cared for. Through that experience, I came to understand—deeply and personally—the quiet yet powerful impact of the Card Sharks ministry. What may seem like a simple gesture carries extraordinary comfort to those who need encouragement and hope.
“I now understand the quiet, powerful impact of the Card Sharks ministry.”
Today, I am fully recovered, and my latest MRI confirmed that there has been no new growth. My heart is full of thankfulness and praise for the peace God poured into my life during such a frightening season. I was never alone. His presence and His power were with me every step of the way. I will carry that truth with me for the rest of my life, along with the memory of the prayers, kindness, and compassion that sustained me exactly when I needed them most.
