Rule of Life

From Habit to Holy Practice

By

Ray & Judy Lee

After completing the 8-week Practice the Way course, we found ourselves inspired to weave many of its spiritual practices into our daily rhythms. The follow-up Practice of Prayer course deepened that momentum by helping us understand prayer not merely as communication with God, but as a powerful pathway for spiritual growth, guidance, and restoration.

Throughout the class, we were introduced to practical tools and structured approaches that helped us pray with greater focus and intentionality. One of the most meaningful elements was learning how to incorporate Scripture into our prayers, grounding our conversations with God in His Word. We especially valued learning to pray through premade prayers—such as the Psalms—which gave language to our longings and helped shape our hearts toward God.

“Prayer became more than a habit—it became a life-giving relationship with Jesus.”

This experience has transformed our prayer life. Instead of being just another habit, prayer has become a deliberate, life-giving practice—one that deepens our relationship with Jesus and continues to form us spiritually each day.
