Where Volunteers Shape Generations

My family joined JCBC twenty-three years ago, and my two daughters grew up in this church’s children’s and youth ministries. Even today, many of their closest friendships began here—relationships formed in classrooms, hallways, and youth events that shaped their faith and their lives.

During these twenty-three years, I have served at least twenty of them in children’s and youth ministry. I’ve taught third-grade Sunday School, cared for preschoolers on Wednesday mornings during Mothers’ Fellowship, served in VBS as both a leader and co-director, and for the last twelve years, I’ve volunteered in the youth ministry. I currently teach Sunday School and serve as a small group leader for high school girls on Sunday evenings.

“I believe a church cannot grow without a vibrant children’s and youth ministry.”

I believe a church cannot grow without a vibrant children’s and youth ministry. These ministries are the heartbeat of the next generation, and I am grateful that JCBC has a core of volunteers who serve faithfully, tirelessly, and selflessly. Through years of change and transition, our volunteers have stepped up to carry more responsibility, ensuring that the ministry remains a stable, loving, Christ-centered environment for our students.

This group of volunteers is uniquely gifted. We complement each other, each bringing our own voice, personality, and strengths to the ministry. Above all, we are a community of mature believers who model Christlike character and His unconditional love. And the students feel it. They know they are cherished, valued, and supported.

“Our volunteers create a stable, loving, Christ-centered environment—and our students feel it.”

I am deeply proud to be part of this ministry. And I am profoundly grateful for the volunteers who pour themselves out week after week, serving hard in the name of God’s love.
