Christmas at Johns Creek & More…

My cup continues to overflow from the joy experienced this past weekend. The 17th annual production of Christmas at Johns Creek was a spectacular celebration. With performances on Saturday and Sunday, our church hosted nearly 3000 worshippers for the event. It was a powerful, POWERFUL night of worship and celebration. God was glorified, Christ was exalted, and hearts were filled.

JCBC is extraordinarily blessed with uber-talented women and men who are passionate about lifting up the name of Christ with musical excellence and class! They do it every week.

The entire music ministry and cast deserves our deepest thanks. This past weekend, once again, demonstrated the fruit of nearly 5 months of preparation and rehearsal. They poured themselves into every measure and movement. That kind of commitment is the backbone of a healthy congregation.

None of it would be possible, however, were it not for the vision and leadership of Glenn Crosthwait. Glenn has a passion for glorifying God through the music ministry of this church; and it shows in every worship experience.
Hats off to you, Maestro! Another job well done!

Now, with only one week until Christmas, let me encourage you and your family to be present at each of our remaining worship events.

  • Shaun, you couldn’t be more right. The manner in which Glenn leads us in the choir makes all the difference. He makes sure to remind us that we’re not performing, we are worshiping. He doesn’t demand or expect us to hit every note, etc. He only asks that we pray and submit ourselves to being used to worship. There are certainly moments when it seems like a certain song, etc just isn’t going to come together, but it does. And that’s the hand of God doing more with our worshipful effort than what we could if we just try to perfectly perform it. We are quite thankful for Glenn, to say the least. We’re also thankful for a pastor who supports our efforts and celebrates with us (and will drop some singin’ on us from time to time, too!!). The church may be blessed by us, but we are just as blessed by our church. Thanks for the post.
