McDaniel Farm Park

Saturday August 27th – 8:30 AM

McDaniel Farm Park offers a beautiful 2.3 mile walking trail.  There are plenty of ways to make the walk shorter…or longer!  The loops are clearly marked and easy to navigate.  The entire trail is asphalt except for the bridges crossing Sweet Water Creek at several points along the way.  The surface is wide and smooth – perfect for wheelchairs and strollers.  There are plenty of benches along the trek and even several swings if you’d like to sit awhile.  There are covered areas for gathering, a dog park, and a great playground for the littles.  This trail is decidedly more hilly than our previous walk sites – but it is still a relatively easy walk.  Also on the property is the McDaniel Farm Historic site.  It offers a wide array of buildings and interesting artifacts.  It’s free.  You may want to look around after our walk.  I plan to.

We will park at the Historic Site entrance at 3251 McDaniel Road, Duluth and we will have fruit and water for all who would like to gather afterward.  Rain or shine (you be the judge!)

So c’mon JCBC…LET’S WALK!
